The 2XU Long Distance Tri Short is built specifically for extended triathlon racing — the kind of effort where the gear you choose becomes increasingly relevant as the hours accumulate. Two proprietary fabric technologies work together across the short: ICE X for active body cooling and sustained moisture management, and 70D KINETIC SPEED for aerodynamic advantage and compressive support through both the bike and run.

ICE X is 2XU’s most sophisticated cooling fabric. Xylitol — a naturally derived compound — is embedded directly in the yarn structure, drawing heat away from the skin during prolonged effort. Combined with IR-blocking technology that inhibits infrared ray penetration, ICE X is designed to lower skin temperature by up to 5.4°F. The high-filament construction and tighter gauge knit deliver compression and breathability simultaneously, making the fabric as effective at hour five as it is at the start line. Where ICE X handles thermoregulation, 70D KINETIC SPEED addresses aerodynamics — a fabric developed with Swiss air turbulence technology that reduces drag at race pace, reinforced with LYCRA® fibre to maintain garment shape and compression fit through a full Ironman effort.

The short is built with an Elite LD Chamois, engineered for long-distance events where standard chamois padding either underperforms over hours in the saddle or creates discomfort on the run. Y Elastic grip keeps the hemline in place through sustained movement, and rear pockets provide race nutrition storage without requiring a separate belt or pack.
