The Pirelli P ZERO Race TLR SL-R Tire sits at the top of Pirelli’s road racing lineup — the fastest tire in the P ZERO Race range, engineered specifically around aerodynamic efficiency without conceding anything in rolling resistance or wet-weather grip. It’s a fully slick design with micro-texture surface detailing and the PAAS (Pirelli Advanced Aerodynamic System) integrated into the tire profile itself. That patent-pending geometry was developed through CFD analysis and wind-tunnel testing to create a seamless transition between tire and rim, keeping airflow attached longer and reducing flow separation — the kind of aerodynamic detail that used to live only in the wheel, now built into the rubber.
The casing is LiteCore — Pirelli’s lightest and most supple TLR construction, built for maximum rolling efficiency at minimum weight. At 275g (700×28) and 285g (700×30), these are genuinely lightweight race tires that still deliver the comfort and road feel that makes a tubeless setup worthwhile. The SmartEVO² compound is a motorsport-derived three-polymer blend mixed and manufactured at Pirelli’s facility in Italy, near their global R&D headquarters. Compared to the previous SmartEVO formulation, SmartEVO² offers measurably better grip on wet surfaces and a further reduction in rolling resistance — meeting the demands that World Tour racing places on equipment.
